The New History

Featuring Scarlett Suhy-Pons and Gabriel Pons

“New History” is a celebration of myth, legend, and artifact. Artists Scarlett Suhy-Pons and Gabriel Pons drew inspiration from their travels around the world to places such as Morocco, Greece, Rome, and Spain. Both artists used historic precedents as a means of initiating their work, yet integrate their own contemporary style to reinterpret the material into new forms.

The PONSHOP mission is to promote fun and creativity through the practice of art, design, and recreation. Scarlett and her husband Gabriel met while they were studying architecture at Virginia Tech in 1995. Their mutual goal of sharing a space where they can work, exhibit, and educate was realized when they acquired a studio at LibertyTown Arts Workshop in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
